Forever we will remember them those who fought to give us a country of freedom and peace

The morning started for residents, families and staff with a March led by Qld Police Pipes and Drum Piper.

We marched passed the dining room and through the Hostel doors leading onto the pathways finishing at the Flag post on the beautiful green grass outside the main hall.

Our general manager John Howard welcomed residents, families and distinguished guests followed by the Qld Police Pipes and Drums Piper playing Advance Australia Fair.

Resident Joyce Aplin recited a poem that touched our hearts and stirred our thoughts. Warrant Officer Class 2 Michael Lyons addressed the service sharing the meaning of ANZAC and the sacrifices made by servicemen and women in all conflicts. A poem was read by resident Zita Mullins followed by the Hymn “Abide with me” led by the beautiful singing voice of resident Iris Luck. Resident Priest Fr. Shiel said a prayer and the Qld Police Pipes and Drums Pipers played Amazing Grace whilst residents laid Wreaths at the flag post.

We listened to the last post followed by 1 minute silence and then the Ode was spoken by resident Neal Cremin. In closing we listened to the Rouse.
